sir
if suppose i buy 60 mdf strips , and i use only 59.5 strips - will the cost of my building be considered for the 60 strips or for the used 59.5 strips?

if suppose i buy two a4 sheets and i use only 1.25 sheets , wat will be the cost calculated for the building...?

See section 4.2 in

http://www.ideers.bris.ac.uk/dynamicdesigns/ModelSpecBrief_India_EN.pdf

"On arrival at the Final, each team will be provided with play money totalling £20 Million. Teams will use this money to purchase the materials for their models from the materials shop throughout the day. Any unused material cannot be sold back to the shop. However, teams may trade unused materials with each other."

You can only buy materials in the "unts of purchase" that the shop provides so you need to make best use of the materials. If you need 59.5 strips then you will need to buy 60 and you will therefore waste the cost of the remaining 1/2 stip. Note that "Any unused material cannot be sold back to the shop. However, teams may trade unused materials with each other."

p.s. I should note that you have a maximum budget of £20 million so you should not be thinking of buying 60 MDF strips. You should be restricting your design to using a maximum of 30.

We are not sure how much hot glue we might end up using as its needs varies everytime and we do not know how effective & workable the glue is, we can give only an rough approximation on how much we might use. So is it this approximation of cost for glue be sufficient in our cost estimate for the model?

The hot melt glue is very effective at joining the materials. You need to practice to see how much glue you need to make a secure joint, as I can't find the words to describe this. Don't use a tiny amount as that is not effective, and you don't need great lumps of glue, just something in between.

Assuming that you are only using glue sticks for joining members (and not for anything innovative), you will probably use about 2-3 glue sticks of length 30cm and diamter 11mm.
