Yes 16pt is the font size as you show the your word document. Using this size font means that the text is readable from a reasonable distance.

The laboratory being used for the final has not yet prepared the shake on their table but it will be very similar to the one used in the competition in Korea. For more details see http://www.ideers.bris.ac.uk/Discussion/messages/101/303.html?1247588550

Professor:

What is the Modulus of Elasticity of the string??
and in the specification for the posters, what does technical justification of your design mean??

"technical justification of your design" means that you should include something explaining why your design will perform well in an earthquake. This could include things like an explaination of the building stablility, the earthquake resistant design concepts you have used, why and how you have included ways to damp out the response of the building, simplified FE analysis etc etc. Just keep the explainations simple. You don't need to go into lots of very detailed technical analysis. It is the concepts that we are looking for.

I'm afraid I don't know the Modulus of Elasticity of the string as it is being purchased in China. You can see a picture of the type of string we hope to be using at http://www.ideers.bris.ac.uk/Discussion/messages/101/1175.html?1247772353
If you really need to know the E value I suggest you buy some string and test it but take into account the fact that the string you get at the final might be slightly different.
