Vertical Load Calculator

Use this calculator, to find:

  • The number of steel blocks for each floor of your model.
  • The mass for each floor for the Vertical Load Test

For every floor of your model do the following:

  1. Calculate the area of the floor in square centimetres.

  2. Type the area in sq cm in the box below and click the calculate button to see the results

The area of the floor is  sq cm

Result:

You will need to add at least grams to this floor. So, you will need steel blocks for this floor.
steel blocks have a mass of grams. This is the mass you must add to this floor of your model for the Vertical Load Test.

Example:

A rectangular floor has sides 15.3 cm by 16.2 cm

  1. Area of floor = 15.3 x 16.2 = 247.86 sq cm
  2. You would type 247.86 into the area box.

Result:

You will need to add at least 2480 grams to this floor. So you will need 4 steel blocks for this floor. 4 steel blocks have a mass of 2540 grams. This is the mass you must add to this floor of your model for the Vertical Load Test.

Note ! 3 blocks would only has a mass of 1905 grams which would not be enough.
