Hooke's Law

If you stretch a spring and then release it, it will return to its original length, as long as you don't overstretch it. The amount the spring extends is proportional to the tension force used to stretch it. This is called Hooke's Law which can be written in mathematical code as this formula.

T e

where T is the tension force
and e is the extension of the spring

Question: If you hung 100 grams from the spring, and it stretched 1 cm, how much would it stretch when you hung 200 grams on the spring? (Assume that the spring is not overstretched.) (Answer)
