IDEERS Natural Frequency Experiments

This experiment was designed by me, Tommy Wood (age 15), as part of my work experience with the EERC at Bristol University. I wanted to spend some time with them after seeing a demonstration they had done in a local shopping centre during National Science Week.

I spent 3 days working on the text and taking the pictures for this web-page. I hope you find it useful.

So here we go.….

First and foremost, be prepared to get stuck in and have fun !

You will need these materials:

  • A block of polystyrene or florists' dry oasis
    (about 20x10x10 cm)
  • Plasticine
  • Bags of florists' wire
(The same lengths but different thicknesses)

Then, try these experiments in order:

To print any of the Experiment pages click on the file option from the menu at the top of the window. Then click on the print option in the drop down menu.
