seismograph station

Seismometers are installed at seismograph stations. In the U.K., they are placed in a pit and linked to a radio transmitter mast. Power is provided by a solar panel on the mast. Information from the seismometer is transmitted by the radio link to a central computer at BGS. There is a network of seismograph stations around the U.K.
