Fixings for Steel Blocks

Remember ! You should add the fixings to your model after you have carried out the horizontal and vertical load tests.     (see Model Testing)
  • Make sure that your floor can support the steel blocks. ( Show Me )

  • Make the space for the blocks slightly larger than required (by about 2mm) to make sure they fit well.

  • Make some paper cuboids the same size as the steel blocks to check that the blocks will fit on your model. ( Show Me )

  • For the shaking-table tests we will glue the steel blocks firmly in place.

See a video of how violently models can shake when they are tested. View on line or Download (173Kb).
