Multi Storey Carpark, Los Angeles

The structural frame of this 3-storey car park was constructed mainly from reinforced concrete. The building collapsed because the columns on the inside of the building failed.

The floors then collapsed because they had lost their supports. (See Detail)

As the floors fell in, they pulled the outside faces of the building over which originally were vertical, like the one in the picture. (See Detail)
