Los Angeles Reservoir

The earthquake affected structures at the Los Angeles Reservoir.
The protective asphalt lining on the upstream face of the
embankment dam cracked. (See

The bridge from the top of the dam to the intake
tower was damaged. Its central section was dislodged from
its supports (the piers) and thrown sideways. (See

The 3 metre diameter pipe, carrying water from the reservoir
downstream of the dam, burst causing flooding downstream.
