Buildings damaged by other buildings

You can see that the building in the centre of this picture
swayed to the left collapsing and crashing into the neighbouring
building.
If you look carefully, you can see that the neighbouring
building probably would not have suffered any damage from
the earthquake otherwise.
This demonstrates that the condition of neighbouring structures
should be considered when designing a building to be earthquake
resistant. If they are not, the design may not be fully efficient
during an earthquake.
